5Rhythms with Sarena Wolfaard

About 5Rhythms:

5Rhythms is a conscious dance practice developed by Gabrielle Roth to help liberate your inner dancer. There are no steps to learn and no right or wrong ways to move. The music can be eclectic, drawing on multiple genres and cultures to support a group process.

It can be many things at the same time – a fun workout, chat-free social time, or a deep spiritual practice. On any level it can be profoundly transformative, helping shift your mood, energy and perspective.

Often described as a moving meditation, 5Rhythms supports you to pause your thinking mind and connect with how you feel then allow your body to do the rest.

The rhythms are: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness.

September’s offering will be led by Sarena Wolfaard.

Sarena is a movement and dance facilitator, psychotherapist, Therapy in Motion practitioner and author coach, who lives in Linlithgow. She works online and in person in Edinburgh and Linlithgow. She has been teaching 5Rhythms since 2004, was accredited by Gabrielle Roth; has been an Open Floor International teacher since 2017 and working with clients and couples since 2013.

From Sarena:

“I facilitate and support from an understanding and exploration of my own experience, informed by more than 20 years of conscious dancing, 10 years of study in Processwork and is trained in attachment theory, trauma informed practice, relationship, and group work. I approach each session (dance and Processwork) with curiosity, compassion, non-judgement and a love for the complexity of our humanness.”

Instructions:

Please wear loose comfortable layers so you can regulate your temperature.

Bare feet or soft dance shoes are recommended.

Bring a water bottle with you.

We will be in Castle Douglas – Bowlers Hall on Cotton Street.
