This is a day aimed at parents, individuals, and those that support autistic children and young people.
Concession prices for this event are available to families and carers of those with Autism and individuals themselves.
Tickets cost £80 for the in-person event with Tony Attwood in Dumfries, and the concession is £30. While tickets to watch the live-stream in Stranraer cost £50 with a concession price of £25.
The day will consist of two talks presented by Professor Tony Attwood, who is one of the world’s leading experts on Autism and has worked with many thousands of individuals of all ages with many expressions of autism. The two talks are:
Making Friends: Strategies to improve social understanding and friendship skill
A focus on the four stages in the development of friendship and strategies to encourage the development of friendship skills and social integration with activities that can be applied in the classroom, playground, and at home.
ASD = Level 1 (Aspergers Syndrome) in adults: Employment and Relationships
A session that focuses on the issues faced by adults with Asperger’s syndrome with regard to finding and keeping employment. The sessions have been chosen to benefit parents, carers, and professionals who support people with Autism, and individuals themselves.
Refreshments and lunch are included in the price of a ticket in both Dumfries and Stranraer.
