An evening with Dumfries Women’s Signwriting Squad

Explore signs in Dumfries old and new with photos from the museum collection and from about town. This evening will include a look at ‘ghost signs’ (signs which are only visible when a shop sign is removed). There will be lots of opportunities for discussion and interaction. You can even have a go at signwriting yourself (no prior experience required).
Since 2018, Dumfries Women’s Signwriting Squad host regular meetings to share skills, project and practice together. They work collaboratively on client based commissions.
NB While the Signwriting Squad are all women, this event is open to anyone aged 12 or over.
