Augustinian Quiet Day

As Carlisle Cathedral reflects on their Augustinian heritage in this, their 900th year, there is an opportunity to spend a day at the Cathedral being guided by Ms. Magdalen Houlihan and Fr. Bernard Rolls OSA, a member of the Augustinian Order in England, on the rich spiritual inheritance of the Augustinian tradition.

Canon Dr. Benjamin Carter, Canon Warden, says “At the heart of our 900th anniversary celebration is a recommitment to the Augustinian values and traditions which have been part of the life of the Cathedral over the centuries. We are delighted to welcome Magdalen Houlihan and Fr. Bernard Rolls OSA, an old friend to Carlisle, particularly to the community at Austin Friars School, to guide us more deeply into the wisdom of St Augustine and how that can enrich all our lives as we engage with the challenges of the world around us.”

The day begins at 10am and includes periods of worship and space for personal reflection, concluding with a service of Evening Prayer at 3pm.

Tickets: £15 – includes all refreshments and a light lunch
