Join us at Lochhill Farm for a fun day exploring nature at the first of these BioBlitz events!
What is a Bio Blitz?
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. We’ll be recording biodiversity and learning all about what we find. This is a great way to get out in nature – and use citizen science to help add to national records and databases for sightings of different species!
Date: 06.07.24
Time: 11am-3pm
Drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm. Our trained facilitators will take small groups around the land on a mission to find minibeasts! Stay all day or just for an hour. Get ready for a nature adventure like no other… Families welcome, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Location: Lochhill Farm DG7 3BE
Lochhill is a small hill farm just outside Crossmichael in Dumfries and Galloway. Richard and Jane have farmed at Lochhill for about 13 years. They have managed the land organically and have created new habitats, planted trees and managed their wetlands. This year, Propagate is working with Lochhill Farm to establish a new baseline for biodiversity, soil health, water quality and community connections. This will pave the way for Lochhill’s plans for 2025, aiming to be ecologically diverse, create sustainable rural livelihoods and be a place for education and learning.
