Do you have a wardrobe full of clothes that you no longer wear? Are you looking for a sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe? Then why not join us at our popular Clothes Swaps, our next event is here at Flourish in Dumfries Town Centre on Thursday 15th June at 7pm. Bring clothes, leave with clothes – who knows what treasures you’ll discover from someone else’s wardrobe!
As part of Great Big Green Week 2023 we are hosting a fun way to sustainably refresh your wardrobe whilst helping to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry. It’s responsible for 2.1 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. We as consumers need to take practical measures to reduce our carbon footprint. After all, eco-friendly clothing isn’t only about buying from sustainable brands so why not swap instead.
We’ll be opening our shop on the night so you can happily enjoy a browse. There will be nibbles and refreshments to keep you fuelled while you swap & shop.
RULES OF THE RAIL! | If you’ve never been to a swap this is how it works. You’ll need to gather together quality, well-maintained clothes (no stains, tears, pilling etc.) – things that you yourself would want to receive if it was new-to-you. No Underwear or Swimwear unless they have NEVER BEEN WORN with labels on. Swapped clothes or accessories must be in good and clean condition. Then bring your clothes to Flourish during the DROP OFF dates below. You can DROP OFF between 5 to 10 items, although you can donate more if you’d love to, then join us on the night for swapping. You can explore the rails and take home clothes you’ve chosen. If you can, please pop clothes donations on a hanger & don’t forget to bring a bag to take your new to you clothes home in.

Drop any donations between the 6th June and the 14th June to Flourish during our shop opening hours.
Any left over items from the swap will be upcycled at future workshops here at Flourish, donated to our friends at ReDress Scotland, who will be upcycling the garments for their Dumfries Slow Fashion Festival in October. More info here If there’s anything left after this we’ll be donating to other local charities.
