Coral Scottish Grand National Ladies Day 2022

The opening day of the Coral Scottish Grand National Festival is Ladies Day and a gloriously glamour filled occasion with prizes for not only the most stylish ladies but also for the gents who top the fashion stakes.

With entertainment before, during and after racing and continuing until three hours after the last race this is a fun packed day not to be missed.

And the racing is also out of the top drawer.

Hillhouse Quarry are the longest running sponsor at Ayr with their association with the track stretching back 29 years. The Hillhouse Quarry Handicap Chase, a Class 1 Listed Race headlines today’s racing and is one of the most hotly contested races of the jumps season at Ayr.

Trainer Dan Skelton had a fantastic record in the race having won three of the last four runnings and his horse Not That Fuisse was just touched off by a neck in 2021 by Nietzsche to deny him the four timer.

The main supporting race is the Coral Backing Scottish Racing Mares’ Handicap Hurdle rean over three miles and half a furlong.

Top jockeys likely to be riding at the Festival include Dan Skelton, Nico de Boinville, Brain Hughes and Sam Twiston-Davies.
