Creative digital landscape photography with Allan Wright – 2 day course with residential option

This weekend offers to opportunity to visit a beautiful part of Scotland and be guided to take a variety of shots in great locations by our professional, award winning landscape photographer Allan Wright.

The weekend will start at Shambellie House at 10:00 am on Saturday with a welcome refreshment, introductions and outline for the weekend. You will depart for day one, being transported by minibus with your tutor Allan as driver, personal guide and photography tutor. Throughout the day you will be visiting different locations, learning new skills and sharing ideas. Lunch will be informal and eaten amongst the beautiful scenery that Dumfries and Galloway has to offer.

You will return to Shambellie late afternoon for refreshments and to make use of the Digital Suite guided by Allan. Formal input will finish around 6.30pm on day one, hopefully catching a sunset shot before retiring for the day. Those booked in at Mabie House Hotel will be transported back to their accommodation in time for dinner where they can share experiences and enjoy each other’s company.

Day two will start early with, weather permitting, a sunrise photoshoot leaving Shambellie House at 7am. You will return for a sustaining breakfast before setting up for the day ahead. We will then depart, visiting more handpicked locations in the local area, eating lunch in another beautiful spot, relaxing, enjoying the scenery and company and learning more about landscape photography with your tutor Allan leading you all day.

The group will return to Shambellie House mid-afternoon, finishing the weekend with a session at Shambellie House to edit and then print your favourite image from your shots.

In the Digital Suite:

Tuition in the digital suite will involve editing sessions at approximately (weather dependent) 50% of course content. Emphasis will be on the importance of distilling the best from a shoot for subsequent correction and enhancement for maximum image quality / enjoyment.
