Creative Foundations: Thursday Sketch Club is a relaxed, beginner-friendly weekly class for adults at The Little Art Den in Kirkcudbright.
Each session focuses on a different drawing skill or theme — from shading and perspective to linework and sketching everyday objects — all delivered in a low-pressure, supportive environment where process is valued more than perfection.
You don’t need any previous experience and all materials are included. Whether you come once or join us each week, you’ll find calm, confidence and creativity waiting for you.

30 Oct – Drawing What You See
Learn how to break down everyday objects into simple shapes and proportions.
6 Nov – Tone & Texture
Explore pencil techniques to add depth and interest to your sketches.
13 Nov – Light & Shadow
Learn how contrast, shading, and light sources bring realism to your work.
20 Nov – Perspective Basics
An easy introduction to 1-point perspective drawing.
27 Nov – Object Study
Use all your new skills to sketch a beautiful still life composition.
4 Dec – Everyday Sketching
Capture cosy comfort objects like mugs, books, blankets and more.
11 Dec – Festive Focus
Sketch seasonal scenes: evergreen branches, candles, baubles and ornaments.
18 Dec – Cosy Composition
Combine what you’ve learned into a winter-inspired still life with personal meaning.
🫖 Tea, coffee, and biscuits are included — and there’s no pressure to get it “perfect.”
