The Choir will do 3 Spring Concerts in April
The opening Concert will be at our rehearsal Venue in Thornhill, OST, Station Road
Mon April 14th – 7:30pm
Other dates Tues 22nd April – Dalswinton Village Hall 7:30pm
Sat 26th April – The Bridge DUMFRIES 7:30pm
This features a feel-good and varied programme including Scots songs, traditional American, modern and Classical treats, Musical Show selections and much more.
We will celebrate the onset of the brighter days with our Spring Concerts – “A Little Jazz”.
The chosen Choral piece is A Little Jazz Mass, by prolific, Choral Composer Bob Chilcott (1955 – )
It says much for Chilcott’s skill that he has successfully brought together two very diverse traditions –
the Latin Mass and the Jazz idiom – in such an expressive and entirely unforced way, an achievement that
has generally eluded other composers who have tried something similar.
A Little Jazz Mass, was composed for the 2004 Crescent City Choral Festival, New Orleans.
The whole programme is a great mix, with something in there for everyone.
Tickets are £12, with Student/children free.
The Choir promises an entertaining evening and will welcome your support of this small but vibrant group of Singers.
