Join us for this Shambellie exclusive, two part work workshop. In part one you will design your own pattern for fabric with Morag Macpherson who is an internationally renowned textile artist working locally. We will then send off your fabric to be printed for part two when you will take your own fabric and make a lampshade and table runner under the guidance of local artist and maker Sybil Williamson of Solway Silver.
This is a unique opportunity to get creative with your own design, taking inspiration from Shambellie’s House and Grounds. Morag will also support you to design a signature label with your own logo to be added to your fabric designs.
Designing your own fabric pattern will involve a balance of some basic sketching and taking photographs to generate your original design ideas and then some design work in our digital suite. Morag will be on hand throughout this process to guide, support and inspire you.
In part two Sybil will take you through the process of making a lampshade and fabric table runner using your printed material. We have sewing machines and all you need available here however you can bring your own if you’d prefer.
This will be a unique experience with a small group of people, enjoying time in the grounds and getting creative in the restful ambience of Shambellie House. Lunch included made onsite and refreshments served throughout the day.
