Founded in 2023, Dumfries International Street Food Festival (DISF Fest) is a cultural food festival with community at its heart. It grew out of a Festival organised in 2022 by local refugee charity Massive Outpouring of Love but is now an independent enterprise in its own right.
We aim to demonstrate how much our area benefits from the arrival of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Food is only one of the ways in which our lives become richer and more interesting through having a multitude of cultures and backgrounds in the area.
We are also looking to share music, stories, friendship and fun. What DISF Fest 2022 demonstrated was the need for more cultural exchange events in Dumfries and a food festival was an ideal event.
