Come join us for a Sunday afternoon of elegance and delicious food in the beautiful, atmosphere of The Usual Place!
Our Fine Dining Fundraiser promises to be a celebration of the best of food, drink and hospitality in South Scotland.
This collaboration between award-winning chefs from The Globe Inn and trainees at The Usual Place will include an arrival drink, an exquisite 3 course Sunday meal as well as entertainment, a bar, raffle and auction- all themed to bring the wonderful food, drink and hospitality of South Scotland together to support the aims of The Usual Place and for the benefit of the young people with additional support needs who learn and train here.
Why it matters
We are delighted to present this collaboration to our guests for this special event which will not only benefit The Usual Place through tickets sales, but also provides a unique opportunity for young people to gain from the experience of some of the finest chefs in Scotland.
By being part of this event you will enjoy a celebration of all that is good about food, drink and hospitality in South Scotland, and you are supporting The Usual Place in its work, enabling young people with additional support needs to reach their potential and to continue our values: EVERYONE IS OF EQUAL WORTH, EVERYONE CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR COMMUNITY, EVERYONE SHOULD BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT.
About this project
The Globe Inn’s culinary kings have been working with young people at The Usual Place to create the menu, to prepare the food and to provide the table service for this special event. Young people will be involved in every aspect of creating this special event. Follow their progress on The Usual Place Facebook page.
About The Usual Place
The Usual Place is an award-winning organisation, a World Host Destination and a Disability Confident Leader. We first opened our doors as a community café in 2015 and provide training, education and employability skills for young people with additional support needs. Many of the young people who have thrived through our programmes would previously have been invisible, excluded, at risk of isolation and loneliness and importantly, unable to fulfil their potential as valuable, active citizens contributing positively to their communities.
We focus on promoting the innate talents and capabilities of young people, enabling and empowering them to flourish, and challenging stereotypes.
The proceeds from this event, as well as all the money we make in our café, and from room and event rental is used to cover business costs in support of our aims. Every area of The Usual Place is fully accessible and wheelchair-friendly throughout. We also have an award-winning Changing Places Toilet.

The Globe’s Inn’s unique cuisine emerges from the fusion of Head of Cuisine, Jonathan Brett’s Anglo-European culinary groundings and Head Chef, Fraser Cameron’s traditional Scottish roots. Together, their combined one- and two-star Michelin experience spans the generations, delivering culinary delights that you’ll wish to savour.
