Join us for a GALA DAY at GCH, which also marks the launch of Dumfries and Galloway’s Community Covid Memorial at Galloway Community Hospital, The Dispersed Memorial Forest.
Festivities begin at 11am with bouncy castle, tombola, music, cake sale, raffle, face painting, and local arts and craft stalls – all to support and celebrate GCH. Speeches and unveiling of the memorial marker from 12-12:30pm.

The Community Covid Memorial for D&G is a Dispersed Memorial Forest, planted across five sites in Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Moffat, Sanquhar, and Stranraer. Members of the public are encouraged to visit the newly opened memorial across the region. Get in touch for more info or visit RTD&G socials for details and locations.

The memorial site is located within the Community Garden, behind the hospital car park. It is enclosed behind a wooden fence that surrounds the Community Garden, and not visible from the car park or hospital entrance. Members of the public are most welcome to enter the Garden and visit the memorial at any time. Weather: This is an outdoor event so please dress for the weather. In the event of very poor weather we may postpone, but will do this the day of by 1pm, by announcement on our socials.
Access: the Memorial Forest planting site at GCH is located within a community garden and requires walking on grass which may be wet, tbd weather.
