Gathering Of Local Clans & Families

Annan hosts the first major Clan Gathering in the region for over twenty-five years on Saturday 24th. August.
Organised by the Annan History Town Group, it promises to be a major attraction, bringing visitors from as far away as South Africa, America and Canada. Early bird tickets now available – save money. EBT only £5 per adult with up to 3 accompanied children free.
It is envisaged that there could be as many as seven clans represented at the event, taking place at the Everholm Sports Track. Local clan chieftains including Armstrong, Carruthers and Irving are looking forward to discussing clan history with visitors to their marquees.

There is so much taking place throughout the afternoon. The Teviotdale Steel Bonnets will bring the Border Reiver experience including musket demonstrations. Clanadonia, who opened the Commonwealth Games when it took place in Glasgow, will have two performances in the afternoon. Annan Pipe Band and South West of Scotland Piping and Drumming Academy will also be performing. The Scottish theme continues with Scottish Country and Highland Dancing demonstrations. Local youth group, Spectrum, will perform as well. Annandale Distillery are the event sponsors.
