Like the mangrove swamps of the tropics, the salt marshes of temperate zones are important for young fish. Finding them is difficult but we’ll give it a go!
Join Emilie Wardhaugh, marine biologist at the Galloway Fisheries Trust, on an adventure to find out more about the salt marsh as a habitat for young fish. It is well recognised that inter-tidal marshes provide important nursery and rich feeding areas. Emilie will share with us why. She’ll talk about what to look for if you want to find fish, how they are being impacted by rising water, rising water temperatures and more story weather, and what the future might hold.
Please dress for the weather and the terrain, wellies would be best.
