Ken Bridge Bicentenary: Crossing the Water -Children’s Parade

Puppet-making : Story-telling : Procession by the River Family Entertainment : Music and Refreshments

A parade of stories music and characters over the Ken Bridge.

Join us for a family friendly celebration of 200 years of connecting the Glenkens.
The Bridge of Leaps took you over a deep gorge, where wild creatures dwelt in the waters below, to the Shadowy Isle where the greatest warrior lived. Her name was Scathach. There was no bridge for the young mother of New Galloway, and as for the Pipers of Strathspey, they have been piping at a party for 100 years…. With music and puppets, come and help us “play” with these stories and take them for a walk!

1pm: Meet in the Field between New Galloway & Ken Bridge for puppet-making. Signs at the car park will lead to the rendezvous.
2pm: Parade Sets off to New Galloway with story telling along the way.
3pm: Arrive at the bridge to music & Mark Zygadios’ water organ.
3pm – 5pm Relax and picnic by the riverside.

Free shuttle bus from Bridge to New Galloway from 3pm.
