For those new to Knit with Em classes there is a one-off membership fee of £4 which covers the cost of a knitting bag and folder. The folder contains progress sheets where children can gain stickers as they learn new skills.
In addition to creativity, knitting is beneficial for children for so many reasons. It can increase concentration levels and induce relaxation in it’s repetitive nature. It can help with numeracy skills, fine motor skills and problem solving. Knitting in a group is also great for developing communication and social skills. Finally because the textures and colours of yarn are so yummy and for all the reasons above it is an excellent life long skill for great health and well being.
