In this fabric workshop, you will make this drawstring bag that has five internal side pockets and a large central space too. The bag stands on its own and the sides fold down to provide easy access to all its contents. It was originally designed as a children’s travel toy bag – perfect for taking a range of small toys and activities to restaurants, appointments and also for car, plane and train journeys. It would also be perfect as a cosmetics bag or craft bag or travel buddy to sit on the front passenger seat whilst you are driving and hold your water, mints, tissues, hand gel etc. In Christmas fabrics it becomes a gift bag. The possibilities are endless! The sewing skills required are suitable for beginners but the product is satisfying enough to also appeal to more experienced sewers – particularly learning how to insert circular bases into bags and creating buttonholes and ties. The only warning is that making these can become addictive.
