Gerry has spent years visiting the graveyards of our region capturing beautiful and evocative photographs of these resting places.
This fully illustrated talk will include:
A look at types of stones including enclosures and mausoleums
An exploration of the development of gravestones
Examples of different types of sculpture
Oddities and legends found in cemeteries
Typography
Symbols
The technical aspects of photographing gravestones
This free evening talk will also include a special look at Annan Museum’s latest exhibition ‘Dead and the Undead in Annan: vampires, bodysnatching and more.’ Gerry’s photos feature prominently in that exhibition and we look forward to having him share his insights with you.
