Open Day, Focusing on the History and Folklore of Herbs

An opportunity to see inside Shambellie House and find out more about our programme of courses, events and activities. For this open day there is a particular focus on the history and folklore of herbs with a display of fresh and dried plants and historic artefacts. Find out how women used Ladies Mantle in the 18th century, why Meadowsweet’s common name is Courtship and Matrimony, and much more. Shop and tea room will be open for tea, coffee and cakes.
