The “Our Star” tour is bringing to towns and cities across England, Wales and Scotland, a larger-than-life star, echoing those featured on the European Flag, painted with motifs evoking values of peace and unity.
At each stop along the journey, the star will serve as a centrepiece for events and public debates encouraging local discussion and reflection on Brexit as its fourth anniversary approaches and ask where the UK’s future relationship with Europe lies.
The “Our Star” forum in Dumfries will put under the spotlight the impacts of Brexit on the environment (Laura Moodie, Scottish Green Party), governance (Gerry Hassan, author and commentator), our rural economy (Tony Fitzpatrick, expert in rural economic development) and the cultural sphere (Ben Twist, a Director in the culture sector).
