Sacred Wells in our landscape, what have we learned? Talk

A talk about sacred or healing wells in Galloway where we explore the relationship to the surrounding landscape and the stories linked to the wells with experts. Professor David Munro, Well researcher and geographer-in-residence for the Duke of Buccleuch, will join Peter Hewitt, Museums Officer with Kirkcudbright Galleries, to share their knowledge of wells in relation to landscape, place names and their changing role through time. Including a look back at the findings of the ‘Lost Wells of Galloway’ project.

Format: A Galloway Glens Zoom Room online event, booking via our website.

This talk is linked to a series of “Lost Wells” Podcasts which have been produced by artist/anthropologist Katch Holmes. Please see Galloway Glens social media for more information.
