SANQUHAR ARTS FESTIVAL featuring local, regional and international contributions from artists and local organisations exploring this year’s ‘reconstruction and fabrication’ theme in the light of climate change.
Featuring creativity in the form of banners, workshops, films and presentations in Sanquhar Town Hall 11:00-4:00 on Saturday 25th May.
Meanwhile at MERZ gallery the MAIL ART EXHIBITION continues across the 25th and 26th May (11:00-4:00) showing work by forty international artists with response-art cards from local kids, in celebration of the continuity of the town’s post office (running non-stop since 1712).
On the evening of 25th from 6:00 in the Snug at the Nithsdale Hotel a rolling film tribute to the Beatles and Dundee’s place in music history.
On Sunday 26th a pop-up cinema in the MERZ yard looping films of Charles Jencks developing his Multiverse ideas for the local coal field site.
