Since 2019, the Sanquhar Arts Festival has included an international element. However, with the Sanquhar International Art Festival, this emphasis will be strengthened. The festival features both local and international artists with collaborations from Japan, Australia, USA, France as well as England and Scotland. The festival seeks to show the importance of thinking locally yet with an international view.
There will be food and drinks available for purchase at the Nithsdale Hotel. Following the reception, artists will be featured at the Museum of Model Art, MERZ, and No 5 St. Marys St. Guests are welcome to wander through and view the exhibitions at their leisure.
The artists featured include: photographer Eri Nakamura, sculptural artists Fiona and David Carruthers, painter Christine Nobre, and animator Daria Enache.
