Come along to this workshop and find out more about the stories behind the fish species that call the Wigtown Saltmarsh their home. Where saltwater meets fresh water, Wigtown Saltmarsh creates a brilliant breeding ground for young fish.
Marine biologists from Galloway Fisheries Trust will share with us the positives and negatives of saltmarsh and why it is important to these young fish. As well as demonstrating some survey techniques they use and showing us the different species who live here.
The Solway Coast has 25% of Scotland’s saltmarsh and this workshops aims to build a better understanding of what the saltmarsh does and how it works for biodiversity.
