The UK’s Number 1 tribute to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band are coming to The Venue for the first time, bringing their fantastic stage show filled with theatrics which is guaranteed to bring back happy memories of those classic ‘SAHB’ days.
The fantastic Zappa tribute PYGMY TWYLITE will start the evening and play numbers from throughout the career of the musical genius that was Frank Zappa. This will be a great night for fans of both bands who actually did play some gigs together in the States back in the day! Both bands will be visiting Dumfries for the first time so expect an explosive evening where you will hear all the best known songs from the back catalogues of SAHB and Zappa (along with some deeper cuts!).
Both bands tour extensively throughout the UK and are all experienced and accomplished musicians. Don’t miss this one – it will be a gig to remember!

Zal Cleminson has described them as the best SAHB tribute out there, and Alex Harvey Jr has said that his “Dad would be proud”. So prolific was Frank Zappa’s output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotland’s Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK.
