Join Sybil of Solway Silver to make yourself a lovely piece of silver jewellery. The process is amazingly simple and effective. Starting with Silver clay made from very tiny particles of silver suspended in an organic binder, your piece is formed in clay then fired in a kiln. During the firing process the binder burns off and the particles of silver sinter into a solid piece. This piece is 99.9% pure silver and it can be hallmarked at an assay office as fine silver, 999.
You will use moulding, shaping and texturing techniques to form your piece. It will be fired during the workshop then we will look at polishing and finishing techniques and you will have a completed piece to take away with you.
This can be a standalone however if you are taking more than one workshop Sybil will discuss individual project options with you.
