Join us for a fun and creative evening designing your own silver jewellery dragonfly pendant piece in fine silver using silver clay.
Part of a series of evening workshops – discount applied if booking four or more at once and if you are taking more than one workshop Sybil will discuss individual project options with you that can run over a few weeks.
Description
Silver clay is made from very tiny particles of silver which are suspended in an organic binder. The piece is formed in clay then fired in a kiln. During the firing process the binder burns off and the particles of silver sinter into a solid piece. This piece is 99.9% pure silver and it can be hallmarked at an assay office as fine silver, 999.
You will use moulding, shaping and texturing techniques to form your piece. It will be fired during the workshop then we will look at polishing and finishing techniques and you will have a completed piece to take away with you.
There will be an additional cost of £26.00 for your silver and other materials, payable to the tutor.
This can be a standalone however if you are taking more than one workshop Sybil will discuss individual project options with you.
