Audiences in the Stewartry are in for a treat as SongWave Community Choir brings their latest concert series, Singing up a Storm: Songs of Spirit and the Sea, to the region.
Led by musical director Kate Howard, SongWave is a Castle Douglas based community choir which is known for its joyous renditions of a varied repertoire of songs which in this concert will range from Dalmatian love songs, sung on the shores of the Adriatic coast to the Unst Boat song, Scotland’s oldest known song depicting the coming storm from Shetland. From the joy of the Swimming Song to Sankey and Moody’s nod to our heroes and heroines of the sea, the RNLI, who we celebrate in their 200th year.
“We’re thrilled to bring Singing up a Storm to the Stewartry,” said the choir’s chairperson Jo Gallant. “The choir has been working hard to prepare for these concerts, and we’re excited to share our passion for music with the local community”.
The final concert will take place at New Galloway Town Hall on Sunday 23rd June at 4pm.
To find out more and book tickets please visit SongWave’s website at songwavechoir.org.uk. Tickets are £10, £5 for U26s with refreshments being served in the interval.

Don’t miss this unforgettable musical experience that celebrates the spirit of the sea!
