Scotland’s spectacular coasts and islands are amongst the most biodiverse areas in the UK, providing a last refuge for some of our most threatened species. Species on the Edge is taking action to save 37 of these, reversing declines, restoring their environment and ensuring their survival. We will raise their profile, create safe havens and reinforce the connection between people and nature to provide a legacy of action that will ensure future generations continue to be inspired by their natural environment.
Join us as we tackle the gorse scrub on Little Aird’s Hill for the benefit of the common rock-rose, i.e. the larval food plant of the northern brown argus butterly – one of our Species on the Edge!
Please note: We will be working and walking across challenging, uneven, and potentially muddy terrain, including a 1km walk to the site from the car park. You will need to be moderately fit to participate.
Please bring: Drinking water, a packed lunch, wellington boots or sturdy waterproof footwear, and weather appropriate clothing. Basic hand tools and PPE, such as gloves, will be provided if necessary.
For more info and to book your place please email liam.templeton@arc-trust.org or phone 07747270581
N.B. Due to the nature of this activity, we cannot allow persons under the age of 18 to attend this event.
