Story Collecting Afternoon

Our next exhibition at Annan Museum will be ‘Legends of Old Annandale’, exploring Border ballads, folklore, curiosities, and strange tales.

You can expect stories of ghosts, border reivers, tricksters, lovers parted, witches, and much more. But we don’t want to miss out on your favourite tale from Annandale so we’d love to hear from you on what you think should be included.

We’re having a couple of tale collecting sessions at Annan Museum to which all are welcome to share their story, whether it’s an epic legend or a wee curiosity that could be better known.

You can call in to see us at Annan Museum on Wednesday 12th June from 1pm to 4pm, or on Thursday 20th June between 7pm and 9pm.

The image shows the sword believed to have belonged to ‘Kinmont Willie’, a famed and feared border reiver, which will be on display in the exhibition.
