The Summer Solstice is also The International Yoga Day. I’m delighted to be sharing a ‘Summer Solstice Yoga Retreat’ at Purelands Retreat Centre at SamyeLing Tibetan Buddhist Centre, Eskdalemuir from Friday 21st June- Sunday 23rd June.
Surrounded by the most beautiful countryside you will practice in a retreat centre that emanates peace and harmony.
This retreat will be an opportunity to go deeper into your yoga, pranayama, mantra and meditation practice. You will learn practices to harness the transformative & creative qualities of the summer solstice to stoke your inner fire ( agni). Agni is the subtle pranic force of the element fire in both yoga and Ayurveda. Enjoying mindful walks in the grounds and join an optional Chenrezi Puja in The Temple on Saturday evening.
It’s a digital detox, so no Wifi in Purelands Retreat Centre. However there are phone signals , so you can keep in touch with the outside world.
Accommodation is in comfortable single rooms.
All meals are vegetarian and are taken at Samye Ling ( 10 mins walk away along a path )
There is a small kitchen at Purelands with a fridge, & a kettle for hot drinks.
Plenty of modern showers/toilets. ( separate male/female)
There are stairs up to the practice hall.
Jill Dobbie trained as a yoga teacher ( 500hr diploma ) at Mandala Yoga Ashram in South Wales ( 2015-17). She teaches weekly yoga classes in Dumfries, Annan and Clarencefield and to members of Lothlorien Community where she works as a support worker 2 days a week.
