Share this event:
Event Date
June 27 @ 7:00 pm

The event has passed.

The auld kirkyard at Closeburn sits in a tranquil location, where old and new churches reside together in historic harmony. Around these spiritual sites, the graveyard remembers many local folk and their unique imprint on the world.

Join award-winning storyteller Kathleen Cronie and take a glimpse into Closeburn’s rich past. Among the fascinating stories, you’ll explore the poignant loss of a boyhood friend, macabre links to the ‘Resurrection’ trade and a strange event that quite literally, shook the congregation…

Kathleen will highlight examples of folk art, exploring the symbolism behind green men, trumpet-blowing angels and a ‘bespectactled’ skull that adorns the old Kirkpatrick mausoleum…
