Join us to discover and explore with experts the past and future of woodland cover in Southern Scotland.
We will explore the changes to tree cover in the landscape of Southern Scotland. We will discover with local experts, Archie McConnel from Dumfries Archival Mapping Project, and Adrian Kershaw, from Borders Forest Trust, why certain forests and woodlands look as they do and why they were originally planted.
Together we will consider how to promote a spirit of woodland stewardship within our communities and contemplate the shape of the future for woodlands and woodland cover in south west Scotland.
Either come along to the Smiddy, Balmaclellan, to listen in person or drop in through the online portal.
Book your free ticket via Eventbrite website. Online joining instructions will be emailed to you a few hours before the event.
