The Story of Gaelic in Galloway
A presentation by Professor Roibeard ó Maolalaigh, Professor of Gaelic, University of Glasgow, introduced by Michael Ansell. As part of Seachdain na Gaidhlig, Professor Robby Ó Maolalaigh and local researcher Michael Ansell will be discussing what we can say about Galloway Gaelic, how long was it spoken here, where did it come from, what was the language actually like and when and why it died out as a community language.
