The Tale o the Wee Mowdie and other animal stories in Scots

July 20 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Join us to celebrate the wonderful world of wildlife around Dumfries and learn all the names of the animals in Scots language.

We’ll have stories from the brilliant Susi Briggs, poet and author of Scots books for weans. Susi will share some of her own animal stories and also read from the Scots translation of ‘The Tale o the Wee Mowdie that wantit tae ken wha keeched on his heid’.

Inspired by the story we’ll then make our own (clay!) versions of wildlife jobbies to help you identify such things when you’re wandering around woodlands.

This is a free family activity. Just drop in between 11am and 3pm.
