Tour of Folk Art in Dumfries Museum

An opportunity to explore our current exhibition, ‘Everyone and Everywhere: Folk Art in Dumfries Museum’ with the Museum Curator, Judith Hewitt. The tour will involve a look inside our Windmill Tower exhibition space where objects such as Victorian scrapbooks, toys, puppets, trades banners, snuff boxes, leadwork, paintings, costumes, shop and street signs are on display.
The tour will also explore objects on display throughout the museum that could be considered folk art: wooden carvings, embroidery, slipware and more. No need to book for this free event.
