Museums Curator, Judith Hewitt, will present a fascinating talk exploring Annan’s heritage lost to flood and tides.
In 2021, two bridges in Annan were swept away by powerful floods. But these are only the latest structures to be lost through the waters of the River Annan and the tides and shifting sands of the Solway. Annan Museum held an exhibition exploring these stories in 2022.
In this special presentation, museum curator, Judith Hewitt, will share these histories along with many illustrations of bridges, viaducts and buildings in the area which have disappeared through flood and tide.
