Hop aboard the SS Farndale Avenue this August for the disaster cruise to end all disaster cruises. Hold on to your hats…. they’re back. Who’s back? It’s fun and outright farce all the way when the warring principals of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society embark on the high seas for their next hilarious adventure. Cue mayhem, disaster and lots of laughs as Mrs Reece, Felicity and Thelma attempt to find love and an exquisite set of porcelain figurines!
Join them on 22nd 23rd and 24th August at the Birchvale in Dalbeattie as they battle with a double booking for the hall, some last minute replacement casting, a shipwreck and a cast who are falling like flies to a variety of ailments and a script that takes many unexpected twists and turns. All this amidst the civil war that is central to every Farndale production.
Director Dean McCormick explained: “ Summer is the time for some fun. If you haven’t seen a Farndale before the best way to explain is that it was the forerunner of “ The Play that Goes Wrong” genre. For those that remember previous Farndales – just come and join in the spirit of the night and have some fun. Our experienced cast certainly have had fun getting it ready for you.” These plays took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm long before “The Play That Went Wrong” hit the West End.
So book your berth at Birchvale Theatre on August 22nd 23rd and 24th and sail away on a sea of silliness that will brighten your day.
