Wild Goose Festival – How to Begin Bird Watching

Birds are everywhere, from remote places to our towns and cities. But can you recognise them? Join our walk to see what’s here at Mersehead and get familiar with some of the common and rarer ones. Bring binoculars and your favourite bird guides if you have some, a notebook and pen/pencil.

Tips will be given on recommended guides and how to use these in helping identify what you find. We’ll also have a telescope to enable close-up views of ducks and geese found here.

This event will take place outdoors with some time spent indoors. All children must be accompanied by ticketed adults. Please note, as the reserve location is prone to flooding, we ask that all individuals/groups attending provide a telephone number, so we can notify you in advance if the event is cancelled.

Event Type: Outdoor (guided walk)

Accessibility Details: Walk will take place along our wheelchair accessible trail.

Event Capacity: 12 people

Age Restriction? (eg 12+ etc)+: Families welcome (though not suitable for early years)
