Celebrate World Book Night at Dumfries Museum with a range of activities and two free books for everyone.
The event is all about the wonderful tales in books and the enjoyment of reading, for people who would like to read more as well as avid book lovers.
Collect a copy of the latest novella from award-winning writer Kate Mosse. ‘The Black Mountain’ is a real page turner, set in 1706 in the shadow of a volcano. The Reading Agency have generously donated copies of this for people to take home. There will be a trail around the museum exploring artefacts from the early 18th century when the book is set.
There will also be readings from poet JoAnne McKay and tales from storyteller Tom Hughes and enjoy a friendly atmosphere to share our favourite books. We’ll also have copies of a local history book, Dumfries Time Traveller, for everyone to take home.
